7 Year Old Boy Steals Car To Escape Church

Wow, this 7 year old somehow could see where he was going.  I have a question...how did he get the keys to the car in order to steal it and escape from church?  A witness saw the kid driving right through a stop sign, and called police.  The car heist didn't last long.  No one was charged in the incident.  If I was a parent, some appropriate discipline would be in order!  I would also sit down and figure out with the child, how to make church a meaningful experience for him!
Have you ever ran from Creator God?  The story of the prodigal son shows a young man who left his father to go to a far country.  He took his inheritance and chose what he thought would be the exciting, neon light life.  When his money ran out, his "friends" abandoned him, and he was eating food fit for slopping pigs, to stay alive.  He started thinking about home, and yearned for the unconditional love of his father.  He decided to go home and be a servant for his father.  His father watched the road every day, hoping someday his son would come back. One day, the father saw him in the distance, and ran and embraced him in pure joy!  Luke 15:20-24, "When he was still a long way off, his father saw him. His heart pounding, he ran out, embraced him, and kissed him. The son started his speech: ‘Father, I’ve sinned against God, I’ve sinned before you; I don’t deserve to be called your son ever again.’
“But the father wasn’t listening. He was calling to the servants, ‘Quick. Bring a clean set of clothes and dress him. Put the family ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Then get a grain-fed heifer and roast it. We’re going to feast! We’re going to have a wonderful time! My son is here—given up for dead and now alive! Given up for lost and now found!’ And they began to have a wonderful time."  He threw a welcome home celebration, and gave him fine clothing and plenty of good food to eat.
What did the son have to do to earn this love?  Nothing!  It was a gift from his father.  It is the same way with you, friend.  God is waiting right now, for you to step out of the emptiness, and to come to Him with all your cares and needs.  He is the only One who can help and heal your heart and life.  He is ready and waiting, watching you in the distance!  He loves you!  Don't run any longer! The only way of escape is in the arms of Jesus, the safest place in the universe!
