The enemy of our souls likes to tease us with temptations, making sin look oh so good! He holds it in front of our nose, and if we reach out and taste of it, it evaporates and leaves us feeling empty, guilty and lonely. I can imagine satan then laughs at us and tries to mock Jesus by pointing at us and saying, "Look at them! See what they did, and they're your child? HA, what a mess they are!" He tries to make us feel that God doesn't forgive us, and that we are separated from Him and lost. He tries to make us feel that God is harsh and looking for what we're doing wrong. If God really felt that way, would He have agreed to His Son Jesus coming here to die for you and I? NOT! If we have surrendered our heart and life to Jesus, Jesus stands before the Father who is seated on His throne in heaven, and says, "See these scars on my hands, feet and side? I died for their sins. They repented and they ARE FORGIVEN AND THEY ARE MINE!!! Satan then has to flee because He KNOWS he is a defeated foe!!! Zechariah 3:1-5 says, "I was given another vision. This time Joshua the high priest was standing in front of the LORD's angel. And there was Satan, standing at Joshua's right side, ready to accuse him. 2But the LORD said, "Satan, you are wrong. Jerusalem is my chosen city, and this man was rescued like a stick from a flaming fire."
3Joshua's clothes were filthy. 4So the angel told some of the people to remove Joshua's filthy clothes. Then he said to Joshua, "This means you are forgiven. Now I will dress you in priestly clothes."
5I spoke up and said, "Also put a clean priestly turban on his head." Then they dressed him in priestly clothes and put the turban on him, while the LORD's angel stood there watching.
Jesus covers us with His perfect character and His blood! Then, Jesus proceeds to change your heart and my heart. I know because He is changing mine.
So, the next time satan tries to tease you and tell you it's useless, taht you are condemned already, quote God's word and satan has to run! Say out loud John 3:16,17, putting your name where there is a blank, "God loved ___the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that ____everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn ____its people. He sent him to save ____them!" Then run from temptation in the power Jesus gives you!
