Update: Author's Response To Criticism of His Viral Video, "Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus

Jefferson Bethke posted this response to criticism on his Facebook page:
"If you are using my video to bash ‘the church’ be careful. I was in no way intending to do that…The Church is Jesus’ bride so be careful how you speak of His wife. If a normal dude has right to get mad when you bash His wife, it makes me tremble to think how great the weight is when we do it to Jesus’ wife. The church is His vehicle to reach a lost world. A hospital for sinners. Saying you love Jesus but hate the Church, is like a fiancé saying he loves his future bride, but hates her kids. We are all under grace. Look to Him."
Jefferson is talking about false religion, not all religion, and I just wanted to clarify that!
We are under grace, and we must accept God's grace, and the gift of His Son Jesus who kept the law for us perfectly. God's law is not abolished, as it shows us His righteous standard, and points us to our need of the Saviour, Jesus Christ. We see the sin in our lives when we see the law as a mirror to our life. Then we look to Jesus for forgivenss and cleansing. 1John 1:9, "On the other hand, if we admit our sins—make a clean breast of them—He won't let us down; he'll be true to Himself. He'll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing." Romans 3:27-31, "Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law." For more on this subject, please check out my post on my other blog entitled, "God's 10 Commandment Law Reveals His Character."   www.ohmy2u.blogspot.com
