Like Oskar the blind kitten, we are fighting an unseen foe. There is a spiritual battle going on every day over our souls. Satan has come to kill, steal and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life more abundantly, John 10:10.
The Holy Spirit is an unseen force that is constantly warning us, trying to lead us away from trouble and to Jesus. Jesus said in John 3:8, "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” We can't see the Holy Spirit, but we can sure feel Him working in us, changing our hearts, filling us with loving attributes, instead of our natural inclination to selfishness.
We cannot battle the unseen foe, satan, on our own. Jesus has to do that for us, because He has already won the battle against darkness and sin for us, and the enemy of our souls is subject to Jesus. Matthew 28:18 says, "Jesus came and told his disciples, I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth." Jesus has already defeated the enemy for us, and He knows where the enemy is at and what he is up to at all times. Jesus has to fight this spiritual battle for us every step of the way, and He is willing to! Just ask Him. I'll close this blog with 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
